Welcome

Welcome to the crowdsourcing project set up for the

translation of the Kent State University Institute for Applied Linguistics' website

 OUR PROJECT

16 translation students and translation practitioners from Kent State University and Yarmouk University are working on the cloud to collaboratively translate the IAL website into Arabic

Project Objectives

Welcome to the crowdsourcing project set up for the translation of the Kent State University Institute for Applied Linguistics website. The objective of this pilot collaborative translation project is to work in teams using a CAT web-based platform to facilitate collaboration and communication among the translators and moderators involved, with the aim of providing the Arabic version of the IAL website content.

The idea for this project originates in a conference paper  that we have worked this year and which addressed the modes, means, and practices of today’s collaborative translation.

We are delighted to be working with you on this project. We would really appreciate to receive any feedback you might have in order to improve on the processes and the final translated output.
